What Is a Dental Implant?
A dental implant is a titanium post placed in the jawbone to replace a missing tooth. It supports a natural-looking crown and restores both function and appearance.

Missing teeth can affect more than just your appearance — they impact your confidence and ability to chew and speak clearly. Our implant treatments are custom-tailored to restore full function and aesthetics, giving you the freedom to smile, eat, and live with confidence again.

Explore common topics about general dental care, from routine visits to advanced treatments — all designed to help you make confident decisions about your oral health.
WHAT IS A DENTAL IMPLANT?
dental implant is a titanium post placed in the jawbone to replace a missing tooth and support a crown or bridge.
HOW LONG DO DENTAL IMPLANTS LAST?
With proper care, dental implants can last 15+ years, often a lifetime.
IS THE IMPLANT PROCEDURE PAINFUL?
The procedure is done under local anesthesia, and most patients report minimal discomfort, similar to a tooth extraction.
HOW LONG DOES THE IMPLANT PROCESS TAKE?
From placement to final crown, it typically takes 3 to 6 months, depending on healing and bone condition.
AM I A CANDIDATE FOR DENTAL IMPLANTS?
Most healthy adults with good bone structure are eligible. We perform an evaluation to determine the best option.
WHAT ARE MINI IMPLANTS?
Mini implants are small-diameter dental implants (about 2–3 mm wide) designed for cases with limited bone or tight spaces. Like standard implants, they anchor in the jaw to support a tooth or denture, but placement is typically minimally invasive, often without bone grafting, and healing is faster. They’re especially useful for stabilizing lower dentures or replacing single small teeth.
Benefits: smaller incision, shorter treatment time, and lower cost.
Limitations: not ideal for heavy chewing loads or long spans; longevity depends on bone quality, bite forces, and hygiene.
At Martirosyan Dental & Aesthetic Clinic, we evaluate candidacy with 3D imaging and will advise whether mini or standard implants will give you the most predictable result.
